FAMU’s New Center for Access and Student Success

A former Vibe CEO and senior executive at ESPN, Keith Clinkscales has been a leading figure in the media industry for over twenty years. In addition to his professional endeavours, Keith Clinkscales is actively involved with his alma-mater, Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he is a member of the school’s Foundation Board.

In 2017, FAMU broke ground on the new Center for Access and Student Success, which is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The center will span 73,000 square feet and contain all of the offices involved in student enrollment, financial aid, and registration. Combining all of these departments in one building will improve the student experience, support retention, and increase access to services.

So far, just over $16 million of the project’s estimated $40 million dollar cost has been raised. The building’s design has been completed, and work will begin on the building’s foundation, electrical, and structural components once funding has been approved and allocated by the Public Education Capital Outlay fund, which is anticipated next year.
