Terence Crawford Eyeing 154 Weight Class?

A former senior executive with ESPN, Keith Clinkscales is the founder and CEO of Shadow League Digital. Keith Clinkscales’ firm is a multi-platform sports news entity providing sports coverage with a cultural perspective. The sports personalities Shadow League has covered include boxing champion Terence Crawford.

Turning professional in 2008, Crawford dominated the 140 pound division and reigned as the undisputed world titleholder. With no viable opponents left, he moved up as a 147 pounder and produced the same winning results. His last opponent in 2021, Shawn Porter, former two-time welterweight champion, was defeated by technical knockout in the 10th round. Crawford sports an impeccable 38-0 win-loss record with no draws. Just as impressive is his 29 KOs.

For various reasons, he has not been able to arrange a title showdown with prominent fighters in the same welterweight division, such as Errol Spence, Jr., and Yordenis Ugas. There are now reports that if he cannot get these fights, he will move up to the 154 pound weight class (super welterweight) with the goal of becoming undisputed there. While a heavier weight class, his followers believe he can dominate the super welterweight as well.
